Our Love Story With Water
how we deepen the well of love in the world
it started
with love
We believe that symbols of love should never come with questions of ethics. That was the sentiment that filled Do Amore founder Krish Himmatramka’s heart as he prepared to propose nine years ago. At the time, Krish was an engineer, working long hours on an oil rig in Louisiana. It was there that he learned it took weeks and weeks to reach oil, but just minutes to hit water. He found himself bereft, recalling memories of his childhood, where he’d witnessed people suffering from a lack of clean water. How could people die from lack of access to something that flows just 30 yards below their feet? He knew something needed to be done.
Around this same time, Krish was shopping for engagement rings. However, every time he questioned a jeweler on ethics and sustainability, they responded nervously with the same talking points. None could confidently discuss their diamond sourcing, nor the impact this sourcing had on world communities. Krish found these canned statements were just safeguards in case someone asked, not pride in where and how these jewelers sourced their jewelry. Krish wanted better. He wanted conflict-free diamonds and sustainable mining practices. And even more, he didn’t want to simply “not hurt” the environment or local communities. He wanted to help them.

Why We Exist
to deepen the well of love in the world.
what inspires us
“i wanted to elevate the symbol of everlasting love to its highest level—willing and doing good for others.”
In Latin, “do amore” means I give with love, and this is exactly what our couples do. For each other, and for people around the world. With Do Amore, love doesn’t end with the purchase of your engagement ring or wedding band. It springs forth life-giving water that changes a community forever.

Love Comes Full Circle
Every Do Amore engagement ring, wedding band, or piece of jewelry—no matter the price—directly impacts one person’s life by providing them and their community access to clean water. This is a powerful story, and one worth sharing.
We’re grateful that many Do Amore customers do just that, share their ring’s story, amplifying our reach through word of mouth rather than traditional marketing. This allows us to allocate more would-be marketing spend on water projects that change people’s lives forever.
